Pink and Brown // Death Drug
LOAD 036  12"

Pink and Brown

A two seater outfit outta San Francisco, CA. Pink plays guitar. Brown plays drums.

Pink is in perhaps ten other bands including Oronaco Crash Suite, Dig the Body Up Its Alive, the Coachwhips, and many more. Brown is in as many bands including Lumen, the Young People, the Jews, etc. etc.

Pink is a spastic blur with a throat microphone that massages the guitar neck like a ten dollar whore. Brown is in charge of the drums. Shows are marked by hub bub, confusion, and nudity.

This 12" is five songs recorded after a history making Summer 2001 tour with Load Records band, Lightning Bolt.

Pink and Brown are just completed a month and a half tour of the United States.

Death Drug

From the ashes of Le Shok emerges this fucked up mess of kinder-funk. Personnel from Vermiform's Fast Forward and the Locust also populate this mess. It's a Kids of Whitney High-styled, cough syrup overdose that tries to swagger like the Meters and ends up sounding like the sounds of the day room from Walpole State Mental Health Rehabilitation after a an artificial leg full of smuggled Xanax. Dance if you want, drool if you have to…

Named after a 1985 anti-PCP movie, Death Drug, which stars Philip Michael Thomas. As the movie says ", the first hit didn't cost him anything." The Gap Band appears in countless scenes in this movie as viewed by an angel dust addled wash-up from Miami Vice looks on. This movie apparently caused a pill popping, booze fueled Le Shok to mutter ",Death Drug!" from Providence, RI all the way back to Long Beach, California. Is this a hip remix? Or another attempt by Le Shok to piss take the punk? You be the judge bubba…
